More package formats

Planned

For each format, the three types of repository npm and Docker have today: hosted, proxy and group.

  • Maven and Gradle, PyPI, NuGet, Cargo, Go, Helm and raw repositories.

Several replicas

Planned

Today, an instance has one volume and one replica. Storage already goes through an abstract port, StorageBackendPort, whose only implementation is the local file system.

  • S3-compatible object storage behind StorageBackendPort, to run several replicas.
  • High availability and geographic replication.
  • Distribution of packages and images through a CDN.

Identity and provenance

Planned
  • SAML, next to LDAP and OIDC.
  • Package signing and provenance (Sigstore, npm provenance).

The link with FerrisGit

FerrisGit, the Git forge of the same family, plans to publish an artifact built by a pipeline to ArtiFerris, to trace each artifact back to the commit that produced it, and to bring ArtiFerris's analysis results into the checks of its merge requests. An identity shared between the two remains an open question.
